The goal is not to create one heroic password. It is to prevent one stolen password from unlocking everything.

• Create a unique password for every important account.
• Enable multifactor authentication.
• Protect your primary email account especially carefully.
• Store account-recovery information securely.

Text-message codes are better than no MFA, while authenticator apps or passkeys generally provide stronger protection where supported.
